  • Class Description
    In this 10-week Live Class, Complete Human Anatomy for Artists, art anatomist Rey Bustos will teach you how to recognize and draw the bones and muscles of the human figure through his world-famous series of anatomy blackboard lectures. Rey is passionate about anatomy and his love for the subject matter is infectious to all artists who study with him. Improve your figurative art skills and ignite your lifelong interest for anatomy with Rey's comprehensive beginner-friendly course!

  • Format
    This Live Class is presented as a pre-recorded lecture with live critiques. While it is encouraged that you attend class live on the dates and times specified below, it is not required, and you can still watch a DVR of the class between weekly classes, and turn in your assignments for critique.

    As a Live Class participant, you will attend class digitally, via a live stream which will appear on the NMA.art website. Each week, you will be asked to watch certain sections pre-recorded course instruction, then complete the assigned homework. You will then submit that homework for an opportunity to have it critiqued live by the instructor. During class, you can talk with other students, ask the instructor questions, share your work, and receive feedback on your assignments.

  • Day and Time
    This Live Class will run for 10 weeks. The first hour of class is reserved for Office Hours.

    Class runs every Friday from 10am - 12pm PT starting April 8th, 2022.

Meet Your Instructor

Rey Bustos graduated as an illustrator with high honors from the Art Center College of Design in 1989. He has been teaching since 1990 and is now considered one of the preeminent artistic anatomy teachers in the country. Rey is a former teacher at Art Center College of Design, California State University, Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art, and is also in the teaching staff at Disney Feature Animation. Rey specializes in teaching figure drawing, composition, and anatomy. A class that he created, “Imaginatomy: An Anatomical Approach to Animal and Character Development,” is now required at the Art Center College of Design.
