Starting August 23rd at 9 AM Pacific Time, join Charles Hu for a special series focusing on dynamic sketching of various subjects, including animals, vehicles, and the human figure. Each Friday, Charles will demonstrate his technique for breaking down complex subjects into understandable sketches, focusing on gesture, shape, and structure. With your favorite sketching tools in hand, you'll have the opportunity to draw alongside Charles, gaining insight into dynamic sketching that can be applied to both traditional and digital media.
This live series is tailored for artists at every level—from beginners drawing their first lines to professionals looking to enhance their dynamic sketching capabilities. The sessions are designed to foster creativity, improve skills, and connect you with a community of artists in an engaging and supportive atmosphere.

Meet Your Instructor

Charles Hu is a figure painter and notable art instructor. In 2007, he co-founded his own fine art school, 3Kicks Fine Art Studio in Pasadena, California. Charles received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. He began his instructional career at the L.A. Academy of Figurative Arts. His commissions include numerous portrait paintings, character designs for film and game pitches, murals, and comic books: one of them being the movie End of the Spear. He has exhibited at Wendt Gallery in Laguna Beach, California. Charles is currently full-time faculty at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. He has also taught at Laguna College of Art and Design, and Gnomon – School of Visual Effects, Games & Animation.
