  • Format
    This Live Class offers instructor feedback and critiques for the pre-recorded course Oil Painting for Beginners. Each week, you will be asked to watch the video instruction from the pre-recorded course "Oil Painting for Beginners", complete the week's assignments, and turn them in 24-hours before class. Then, during Live Class, Charles will answer your questions and critique as many assignments as time allows.
  • Office Hours
    This Live Class offers Office Hours for $149. Office Hours grants you access to weekly video calls with Charles starting on week 2, and continuing each week until the end of class. Meet Your Instructor

Charles Hu is a figure painter and notable art instructor. In 2007, he co-founded his own fine art school, 3Kicks Fine Art Studio in Pasadena, California. Charles received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. He began his instructional career at the L.A. Academy of Figurative Arts. His commissions include numerous portrait paintings, character designs for film and game pitches, murals, and comic books: one of them being the movie End of the Spear. He has exhibited at Wendt Gallery in Laguna Beach, California. Charles is currently full-time faculty at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. He has also taught at Laguna College of Art and Design, and Gnomon – School of Visual Effects, Games & Animation.
